Job Title:Innovation Leadership Program (iLead) - Phoenix AZ - Commercial & Industrial Banking (C&I)Location:CityScapeWhat you'll do:Start Date Between June 23, 2025 to July 7, 2025This eighteen-month rotational program gives participants the opportunity to further build their business skills and develop an innovation mindset at a fast-growing company. Program participants will become the trailblazers in their functions, working on projects that will shape the future of Western Alliance Bank. Participants will gain high-impact experience, accelerate their careers as innovation leaders, build their professional network and interact closely with senior executives. The Commercial & Industrial Banking team works primarily with privately held businesses with revenues between $20MM-$300MM. Our value-added approach towards relationship management begins with identifying companies within an addressable market, contacting those companies, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and delivering the bank in its entirety while continuing to deepen relationships. We offer solutions including debt products, treasury services, capital markets, hedging, and more. The program participants can expect to participate in all parts of this lifecycle.The Commercial & Industrial Banking Track will provide the participant a holistic, hands-on experience across several key areas of our business and a well-rounded foundation in both strategic and operational aspects of commercial banking. The rotations are design to develop a deep understanding of how revenue generation, ancillary products, and risk management solutions are interconnected in driving business success. This experience offers exposure to real-world challenges, collaborative problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership, allowing the participant to sharpen their analytical, decision-making, and implementation skills.The Rotations for Commercial & Industrial Banking are:Rotation 1: Commercial Banking is responsible for acquiring, maintaining, and expanding client relationships all while ensuring excellent client service and delivery to the client base. While in this track, the focus will be on client selection, product efficiency, relationship deepening and other business-related projects.Rotation 2: Treasury Management is responsible for delivering a complete slate of deposit and cash management solutions to optimize cashflow and manage risk. From online banking to fraud protection, APIs and web integration to commercial credit cards, the Treasury Management team works with the Commercial Bankers and clients to help protect the business and meet their financial goals. The track experience will include reviews of existing Business Banking portfolio to identify cross-selling opportunities, prepare proforma Treasury Management Analysis statements, and gain an understanding of Treasury Management solutions to assist the Treasury Management Officers in advising clients to be more efficient in protecting their funds.Rotation 3: Credit Underwriting & Portfolio Management is a combined function in finance responsible to assess the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and to actively monitor and manage the performance of a collection of loans to minimize risk and optimize returns, ensuring the loan portfolio remains within established credit risk parameters. The track experience will develop and build credit acumen focused on underwriting and structuring to position the participant for commercial banking career. The participant will support the underwriting of new transactions by shadowing more senior colleagues and working on projections modeling, structuring conversations, diligence calls, and performing annual reviews, renewals and other portfolio management tasks.What you'll need:

• MBA or master's degree in a related field completed in the last three years and before the start of the program.
• Job experience of two to five years related experience in: banking or financial services, loan underwriting and structuring, project management, data analysis, risk management, or client facing sales and service roles (including leadership).
• History of acting as a change agent and taking calculated risks.
• Desire to innovate, disrupt and improve.
• Entrepreneurial mindset.
• Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint) and other presentation tools.
• Ability to work both independently and on cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable with working in a rapidly changing environment.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to diverse stakeholders.
• Additional Track skills:
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, business banking, and risk management.
  • Accounting or Finance degree (or advanced degree) to ensure the ability to read and analyze financial statements.
