Prior Authorization Specialist

Job Description:

A company is looking for a Prior Authorization Specialist to obtain pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for procedures and medications.

Key Responsibilities

Obtain timely prior authorization or pre-determinations from various insurance plans
Verify insurance information and select relevant medical records from patients' charts
Document all prior authorizations follow-ups and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
1+ year of healthcare prior authorizations experience
Experience in submitting prior authorizations
Familiarity with medical terminology, especially in Oncology
Basic computer literacy and strong teamwork capabilities
