As the Medical Director, you will oversee the clinical quality of
care of designated services, ensuring the highest standards of
care, safety, and service delivery. This is a leadership role,
responsible for quality assurance and actively participate in
performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care
and minimizing risks. You will also provide guidance to ensure
compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, focusing
on the quality and safety of care provided.
In addition, you will ensure that clinical services at the Wellness
Clinic are structured to meet the unique healthcare needs of the
2SLGBTQ+ community. This includes a special focus on HIV treatment,
PrEP, PEP, and Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT). As the
Medical Director, you will support the Prisma Community Care
mission of providing affirming and inclusive services to promote
well-being and advance health equity for diverse communities and
all those seeking compassionate care - especially people of color,
2SLGBTQIA+ and Queer individuals, and those affected by HIV.
What your day will look like at Prisma Community Care:
- You will assist with developing, coordinating and enforcing
medical policies and procedures.
- You will assist with implementing the rules of the medical
staff governing the quality and scope of care provided.
- You will educate clinical staff on rationale and need for
adherence to medical policies.
- You will supervise, monitor, audit and evaluate Nurse
Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
- You will assist with the recruitment of medical staff,
including interviewing candidates.
- You will assist with the development and coordination of
diagnosis-related practices and guidelines.
- You will develop and approve an applicable continuous quality
improvement program which includes the monitoring and evaluation of
clinical care activities and patient services with a timeline to
assess the efficiency of corrective measures.
- You will draft and implement clinical protocols based on
evidence-based medicine that is respective to the cultural
competency of the community served.
- You will analyze audit results to ensure patient care meets the
expected standards.
- You will facilitate discussions related to ethical patient care
issues, assisting to achieve satisfactory resolution to the patient
care issues.
- You will provide medical education and training to provide
continuous learning opportunities.
- In addition to clinical oversight, you will provide direct
patient care two days per month to our higher acuity patients.

Who we're looking for:
- You are a graduate of an approved medical school, BC/BE in
either internal medicine or family medicine.
- You have an active and unrestrictive Arizona Medical License &
DEA.
- You are credentialed with AHCCCS and major health insurance
plans.
- You have the ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with providers, insurance companies, and
health care partners.
- You are a highly organized self-starter with excellent
problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task
effectively.
- You possess excellent written and verbal communication.
- You have the ability to work in fast paced environment with
changing deadlines and priorities while maintaining a positive
attitude.
- You can work effectively in a mission-driven agency whose

- You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint) software applications and competent in using electronic
medical records and information systems in providing effective
documentation of patient care.

- You are bilingual in English and Spanish.
- You have earned your AAHIVM accreditation.
- You possess an in-depth knowledge and experience in 2SLGBTQ+
healthcare, particularly in HIV care, PrEP, PEP, and GAHT.
- You have personal or professional experience regarding members
of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender
communities.Environmental Factors, Physical Requirements, and
Compliance
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal
safety/health hazard potential.
- Office environment, exposure to computer screens for lengthy
periods of time.
- This is an exempt position that may require evening and
occasional weekend work.
- Travel outside of the Phoenix region approximately 10% of the
time.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to walk, sit, stand; use hands, talk, and hear.
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Currently have, or be able to obtain within 90 days of
employment, a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Currently have, or are able to obtain within 7 days of
employment, a clear TB test
- Currently have, or are able to obtain within 7 days of
employment, a current flu vaccination
- Currently have, or are able to initiate within 7 days of
employment, a Hepatitis-B primary vaccination series
- Currently have, or are able to obtain within 14 days of
employment, a BLS certification
- Currently have, or be able to obtain within 1-year of
